Bill’s Cafe

A few months ago, I was in the San Jose area for their beer week. On that week, a bunch of breweries come out and serve their limited and exclusive beers throughout the city. Therefore, the night after some beer exploring, I needed to get some good morning breakfast food. Consequently, my friend decided to take us to Bill’s Cafe.

The interior is your typical breakfast diner: friendly waiters everywhere, the smell of coffee and eggs in the air, and tables full of Splenda sugar. The crazy thing is this place was packed. Every table filled and a crazy amount of people waiting. Luckily, my buddy and I were able to get seats right away because instead of waiting for a table, we decided to grab the first come first serve bar stool seats.

For my drink, I ordered their lemonade. It was good and tasted fresh. Another great thing about it is that it came with free refills!

At Bill’s Cafe my friend ordered their Portobello Mushroom Benedict. I didn’t eat his plate, but he said it was very good.

For my dish, I had their Crab Cakes Benedict and I thought this plate hit it out of the ball park. Crab cakes were soft on the inside and crunchy on the exterior. I personally felt the eggs and Hollandaise sauce was a great combination to this texture. It helped allow it to soften up and cool down once I placed the dish into my mouth. I would highly recommend this plate to anyone who is a Benedict fan.

In conclusion, I highly recommend checking this place out. I am grateful to have drank a lot the night before because if I wasn’t hungry the next morning I am not sure if I would have stopped by this place. Consequently, I am grateful I did because it allowed me to try their great Crab Cakes Benedict.
